Frequently asked questions

What is Time Rift?

Time Rift is a hybrid, collectible card and tactics game featuring champions from throughout world history. Customizable, simple to learn, and complex to master. Takes 5 cards and 5 minutes to jump right into the action! Think of it as Super Smash Bros. meets world history, in card game format!

How does Time Rift work?

Take your Champion (the playable character in the game), and equip them with powerful loadout cards, including Armor, Inspiration, Weapon, and Special cards to create the ultimate fighting machine. Enter the Arena with your opponent(s) and face off in 4 rounds of fast-paced combat!

Why would I need several packs if each product offers a fun experience?

In Time Rift, you are strongly encouraged to combine different cards! You can give Napoleon Spartacus' shield and Musashi's wooden sword, or mix and match with any other items you can imagine. The first set includes more than 240 cards, along with different art designs, shiny versions, special rare cards, and more. We want to make it clear that we will never hide a strong card behind a level of rarity. Every card in the game has a regular version. We want the game pieces accessible, always.

Do you use AI artwork?

No. Trivium Studios believes in real, human-created artwork, which is why we work with the best illustrators in the industry. We will never use AI artwork in any of our projects. In fact, your support has a real benefit and impact on the artists who work on the game.

How do your booster packs function?

Each booster pack contains 13 cards. You only need 5 cards to play the game, so each pack includes a 2-player setup and some extra cards. The packs come with 2 Champions and their loadouts. The 3 additional cards are called Chrono Cards. Consider them as extra cards that allow you to try out different combinations of loadout cards.

What else can I get from multiple booster packs?

Rare cards, like alternate art and foil cards, can also be discovered in booster packs. These packs contain a mix of different cards, including the chase “Artifact Rare” cards. When you open a booster pack, you might come across these special cards along with regular ones.

What's the point/reason for both a Location and Culture on a card (Asia/Japanese or Europe/French)?

The 4 words above the game text are the cards' “keywords.” Keywords on cards may react to various loadout card abilities and may even open the door for other game modes as well!

Are all starter decks fixed or somewhat random?

You will receive Spartacus, Musashi, and Khutulun, along with all their matching loadout cards. These battle decks are powerful and enjoyable to use right from the start, making them great for players of all skill levels! Additionally, you’ll get the Napoleon Champion card and four additional loadout cards, which gives you a full 4-player experience right out of the box! You will also two of five foil bonus cards!
